I find this to be a fine little home movie; it's nice to see shots done by someone who knows how to hold a camera and how to pan - in contrast to much of the home video shot today. Touring the USA in a car in 1946 would have been quite a bit more of an adventure than it is now, as this is years before Eisenhower's interstate system was built. Lovely shots of parts of California; the color on the film is quite nice and I especially enjoyed the footage of Oregon's Crater Lake. Boring maybe, but well done and conjures thoughts of the folks who had the time and money to roadtrip back then and on top of that shoot film of it. Unlike now where everyone's carrying a video camera in their pocket, I would imagine that in 1946 very very few people carried movie cameras around with them. Fun.

Nice Western Scenery, No Sound
Visiting a damn is rather boring stuff. Some beautiful western scenery, but rather static filming lessens the charm. No Sound, not even the wind blowing.

Dam! Dam! Hot dam!
The Charleses (??) go out west (??) and go to a couple of dams, see mountains, more dams, and more mountains. I wonder whose idea that was. :D
